The blame game does nothing in the face of the Covid 19 pandemic.
That's according to the Cathaoirleach of Mayo County Council Independent councillor Richard Finn.
He was speaking at the start of today's monthly meeting of Mayo County Council.
He said things have improved since the February meeting of the authority, with the rollout of vaccines, he believes, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
He appealed to everyone to support the government, NPHET, and our healthcare workers in the battle against the spread of the virus.
The CE of Mayo County Council Peter Duggan concurred that the situation in terms of Covid cases and deaths has improved in the county since last month, but he urged everyone to continue to comply with the Lockdown regualtions, as he said we are not out of the pandemic yet.
Independent Cllr Michael Kilcoyne said questions need to be asked as to why Mayo had the second highest number of deaths from Covid 19 nationally, second only to Cavan, since the pandemic began.
He said he will be raising that question at an upcoming meeting of the HSE West foruM.
