Two men were arrested in connection with a robbery in Sligo last night.

They entered a shop on the Bundoran Road brandishing a knife at approximately 10pm last night, as staff were closing the premises.

The suspects fled the scene, but were subsequently stopped by Gardaí and arrested.

They are being held in custody at Ballymote Garda Station for questioning.

Gardaí say investigations into this matter are continuing.
