A further 33 deaths have been recorded this evening from Covid-19.

There's also 744 new cases of the virus - the second lowest in a single day this year.

301 of the cases are in Dublin, with 77 in Galway.

Elsewhere in Connacht, 22 new cases have been reported in Mayo, and 5 each in Roscommon, Leitrim and Sligo.

The 14-day incidence rate of the virus nationally is now 269 per 100,000 cases.

Dublin has the highest rate, followed by Galway at 342 per 100,000.
