Nine Mayo primary schools will benefit from €721,205 under the 2021 Summer Works Scheme.

It is part of 275 upgrades to school buildings nationally which are being planned in the coming months.

The Education Minister has signed-off on 31 million euro for the 2021 Summer Works Scheme for fixing issues like roofs, fire alarms and windows.

The upgrade of toilet and other sanitary facilities is being brought forward as part of this scheme.

Mayo Fine Gael Deputy Alan Dillon told Midwest News this is a great boost for the nine Mayo primary schools.
