A man has been remanded in custody following a special sitting of the District Court in Carrick on Shannon yesterday evening.

This follows a stabbing incident in the Sligo Town area on Thursday.

A man was arrested shortly after the incident by Sligo Gardaí and he was subsequently charged with Assault Causing Harm.

Investigations are ongoing
