Gardai seized more than €6,000 worth of cannabis plants and a small quantity of cannabis herb near Castlebar last Friday.

The detection was made at around 2pm on Friday afternoon when Gardaí carried out a search of a house in Manulla.

A man in his mid 50s was arrested in connection with the seizure and a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
