Emergency services are attending the scene of a serious collision on the N5 Castlebar-Westport road.

It's understood a car and motorbike collided near Cosgrove's garage.

Gardai have confirmed that the Castlebar-Westport road will be closed to traffic for a time this evening, with diversions in place.

An earlier collision on Station Road in Castlebar has now been cleared.
