The government says it's clear Phil Hogan broke public health guidelines when he was in Ireland.

It's after the Trade Commissioner stuck to his guns in an interview yesterday, insisting he was free to travel the country after testing negative.

The Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Green Party leader said last night that they're glad he's given a public account of his movements on his trip home to Ireland.

But they say they still have concerns.

They say they will await the outcome of the review by Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen, to whom Mr Hogan is accountable.
