Met Eireann has extended the status orange rainfall warning for Connacht until 6pm this evening, saying further intense rainfall associated with Storm Francis is expected at times today.

This -combined with overnight accumulations - will lead to some flash flooding, and will further elevate levels in rivers.

No flooding has been reported across Co Mayo up to this lunchtime.

A number of power outages have been reported across Mayo, Roscommon and Sligo.

And in traffic news - the N59 between Oughterard and Maam Cross is closed, after a lorry overturned this morning.

Gardai are currently at the scene.
