Newly ordained Mayo priest Shane Costello will celebrate Mass in his home parish of Taugheen this evening.

The Claremorris man was ordained at a ceremony in Knock Basilica yesterday afternoon.

The Archbishop of Tuam Dr. Michael Neary delivered the homily at the ordination, which was previously postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Mass would have ordinarily taken place in Fr. Costello's home parish of Taugheen but was moved to Knock to allow the event run in compliance with public health guidelines.

Fr. Shane Costello told Midwest News that tonight's Mass in his home parish of Taugheen will be a special time for him and his family.
