Irish Water and Galway County Council are working to address additional electrical issues at Portumna Water Treatment Plant.

People on the Portumna supply are being advised that there is currently an electrical issue at the water treatment plant following the Storm Ellen Power outage and all customers are without water.

Power was restored in Portumna water treatment plant last night, but there were follow on electrical issues once crews restarted the plant.

Electricians worked late into the night to try to restore power to the plant.

More technical personnel are on site this morning working to resolve these electrical issues and restore water supply.

A water tanker is available at the Church in Portumna and additional tankers will be set up during the day, including in Killimor.

Water tankers will be set up in Killimor at the Water Tower by 1:30pm this afternoon.

Woodford had power restored last night and water supply has returned to customers there this morning.

Customers are urged to conserve water wherever possible until normal service resumes.

Irish Water are also reminding people to follow the HSE COVID-19 advice and ensure frequent handwashing.
