The National Lottery is expected to announce further details later of where the winning ticket was sold for Saturday night's jackpot of over €7.3 million, after it was confirmed yesterday that the jackpot was won in Co Galway.

The winning numbers on Saturday night were 3, 7, 18, 36, 40, 42 and the bonus number  16.

This is the eighth jackpot win so far this year, and the 96th Lotto jackpot to be won in Co Galway since the game began in 1988.
