Galway is one of 14 counties where a status yellow rainfall warning is in place today.

The warning, which came into effect at 2am, will continue until midnight tonight.

Met Eireann says heavy rain could lead to localised flooding in places.

The  status yellow warning is in effect for all of counties in the southern half of the country, up as far as Galway.
