
A quantity of cocaine was recovered after Gardaí searched a house in the Swinford area in the early hours of yesterday (Thursday) morning.
Members of the Garda Mayo Drugs Unit discovered cocaine with an estimated value of €350 and a small amount of cannabis.
In a separate incident, a man was stopped and searched in the town of Swinford in the early hours of yesterday morning and found in possession of suspected cocaine valued at €70.
Some hours earlier gardaí discovered cannabis herb worth an estimated €1,400 following the search of a property in a housing estate in Castlebar.
Officers from the Mayo Drugs Division searched the home in the county town at around 6.30pm on Wednesday evening.
A 19-year-old man was arrested following the discovery and later released without charge. A file on the matter is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
