Fianna Fail Councillor Blackie Gavin has been appointed the new Cathaoirleach of the Castlebar Municipal District.

He takes over the chain of office from Independent Councillor Michael Kilcoyne.

Martin McLoughlin is the new Leas Cathaoirleach.
