Investigations are underway after a man in his 70's died in a farm accident in Co Galway yesterday evening.

The accident involving a tractor occurred on a farm at Kilconly near Tuam at about 6.30 yesterday evening.

The man was taken to University Hospital Galway, where he was pronounced dead.

Gardai and the Health & Safety Authority are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy.
