The number of coronavirus cases in Mayo have jumped up by 40 in one day.

26 more people died in the country from Covid-19, bringing  the death toll in Ireland to 1,087.

There were also 701 new confirmed cases of the virus yesterday, bringing the total in the country to 19,262.

Mayo remains the Connaught County with the largest number of confirmed cases, now standing at 435, followed by Galway with 332, Roscommon with 116 and Sligo with 104.
