Gardaí are investigating an assault to a man in his thirties in Ballyhaunis in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred at approximately 2am, when a male, aged in his 30s, is alleged to have been assaulted by two individuals.

Minor injuries were sustained during the incident.

The male was attended to by Ambulance service and taken to hospital as a precaution.

No arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.
