GMIT students and staff have come together online to perform a rendition of John Lennon’s Imagine.

Normal choir practice came to a halt on 12th of March when the Government announced college closures.

However, under the guidance of their Musical Director Sean Rowland, the IT has produced a video of GMIT’s virtual choir singing the classic song, comprising of students from the Galway, Mayo, Letterfrack and Mountbellew campuses.

Sean Rowland, the choirmaster, single-handedly edited over 80 individual videos of students and staff singing their sections and merged their voices into one.

Mr Rowland told Midwest News that the project is helping the participants’ wellbeing during the restrictions.
