A burglary took place at a petrol station in the Louisburg area overnight.

Westport Gardai attended the scene at about 2.40am this morning and discovered extensive damage to the premises.

A number of items were taken in the break-in.

Gardai say no arrests have yet been made, and their investigation is ongoing.
