140,000 euro worth of heroin has been seized in a car at Loughrea in County Galway.

The discovery was made last night around 11.25pm but details are only being released now for operation reasons.

A 41 year old man was arrested at the scene but later released without charge.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
