Sligo County Councillor Thomas Walsh has been added to the Fine Gael General Election ticket in the Sligo-Leitrim, North Roscommon, South Donegal constituency.

Councillor Walsh, from Ballygawley in Sligo, was added to the ticket  at a meeting of the FG Executive Council last night.

It's the first time the 34 year old will contest a General Election, and he joins Senator Frank Feighan on the FG ticket.

Thomas Walsh was elected to Sligo County Council last May, having previously worked as a Dáil parliamentary assistant and Ministerial aide to former FG deputy John Perry.
