The Glenamaddy area of Co Galway has been saddened by the death of a local man in a road collision in the USA at the weekend.

Stephen Conneely from Shannagh, Glenamaddy died in a road accident on Saturday.

Mr Conneely, who was in his mid-30's, emigrated to the USA a number of years ago.

His parents John and Margaret Conneely have travelled over to the States following news of the tragedy.

Funeral arrangements are not yet available.
