Over €405,000 in Sports Capital grant aid has been announced today for two regional sports projects in Co Mayo.

The funding is part of a €2.5 million package of funding allocated for 15 projects across the country.

GMIT Mayo will get €225,000 for all-weather playing facilities at the Castlebar campus, while over €180,000 has been allocated for Lake District Athletic Club in Ballinrobe, for an athletics track and facilities.
