Two people are due in court, after 170,000 euro worth of drugs was seized in Roscommon town yesterday.

Searches were conducted at a number of houses in Roscommon under warrant, and Gardaí found cannabis and cocaine with an estimated street value of over €170,000 and a large sum of cash.

A 20-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were arrested at two separate houses, and were questioned at Roscommon Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

Gardai have confirmed that two people have been charged in relation to the incident and are due before Loughrea District Court today.
