The N17 Ballindine to Milltown road remains closed to traffic this evening following a fatal collision overnight which claimed the life of a man in his 30's.

Shortly after 1am this morning, a car and van collided at Carrownurlar, Milltown.

The driver of the car, who's believed to be a foreign national, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the van, a man in his 50's, was taken to Mayo University Hospital as a precautionary measure.
