Gardai are investigating the sudden death of a man in his 50's on a farm in Co Roscommon.

The farmer's body was discovered yesterday and reported to Gardai, but it's not clear when he died.

Gardai attended the scene at a farm in the Killeglan area of Taughmaconnell yesterday evening, and the man's body was removed to University Hospital Galway for a post-mortem examination.

It's not yet clear whether he died from natural causes or as a result of a farm accident, and Gardai say the results of the post-mortem will determine the course of their investigation.
