A pedestrian crossing needs to be installed at a dangerous junction near the new playground in Newport.

That's according to Independent local election candidate in the Westport electoral area Darragh McGee.

Mr McGee claims this location poses a serious risk to road safety, and is calling for a pedestrian crossing to be installed there, and also on the Main Street in Newport.

The Independent candidate is calling for better traffic management also in the town.
