The Garda Commissioner is being called on to clarify the role of Gardaí attending court-ordered evictions.

Mid-ranking Gardaí in Roscommon are to ask Drew Harris to set out a clear policy on the matter when he attends the annual conference of the AGSI in Cavan later.

It follows a widely reported eviction of a family from their home in Strokestown, Co. Roscommon in December.

General Secretary John Jacob says the process needs to clarified.
