
Two men are due to appear in court this evening charged in connection with a robbery in Sligo on Thursday.
At around midday on Thursday, two men armed with a knife and hammer entered a business at Deepwater Quay in Sligo.
They threatened staff and demanded money. They left with a sum of money and no one was injured.
Garda investigating the robbery conducted searches and arrested a 19 year old man and a 24 year old man in the Sligo area on Thursday afternoon. They were detained under the provisions of Section 4 of The Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballymote Garda Station.
A car and items connected with the robbery were also seized for examination.
Both men are scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Sligo District Court at 7.30pm this evening charged in connection with the robbery.
