Gardai and the Health & Safety Authority are investigating an incident in Co Galway today in which a man in his 60's died after being injured by an animal.

Gardai have confirmed to Midwest News that the incident occurred shortly after 12 noon at a farm in Glinsk.

The man in his 60's was injured by an animal and subsequently passed away.

The Health & Safety Authority has confirmed that it has also launched an investigation into the tragedy.
