Aldi has been granted planning permission for a new store in Belmullet.

Mayo County Council has given the green light for the construction of a new store on Tallagh Road, Belmullet which will create about 20 new jobs.

A spokesperson for Aldi said the new store will be powered by 100% green electricity , with 99 free car parking spaces for customers.

Aldi already has stores in Castlebar, Claremorris and Ballinrobe.
