A Mayo farmer, who had a hip replacement just 7 weeks ago, is to appear on the National Lottery Winning Streak TV game show on RTE One this Saturday evening.

Chris Tansey from Swinford says his daughter have him a gift of a lucky Winning Streak scratch card when he came out of hospital after his hip surgery.

He was watching the programme last Saturday night with his wife and grand-daughter when his name was chosen for this weekend's show.

The father-of-four is one of five contestants taking part in Winning Streak, and will be joined by Tommy Durr from Ballinagard, Roscommon and players from Limerick, Cork and Dublin.
