A man is due before a sitting of Galway district court this morning charged in connection with burglaries in Castlerea over the weekend.

Two burglaries occurred in Castlerea in the early hours of yesterday ( Sunday) morning.

A business premises in the Square was broken into and a private house on St Patrick’s Street in the town.

Gardai arrested a suspect a short time later and he was detained at Castlerea garda station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

The man  was later charged in connection with theincidents and is due to appear before Galway District later this morning.
