Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision that occurred this evening at the junction of the N5 and N26 just outside Swinford.

Roads were closed in the area for a time, but have since re-opened.

It's understood the collision occurred at the Kilbride junction, and Gardai, ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.

Gardai say two people were taken to Mayo University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
