Funding of almost €150,000 has been confirmed for playgrounds in Newport and Ballntubber under the LEADER programme.

Minister for Rural and Community Development Michael Ring has confirmed €74,984 for the development of a community playground in Ballintubber and €74,979 for the upgrade and expansion of Newport playground.

The upgrade work on Newport playground will include the works to cater for children with disabilities and wheelchair users.
