A man's been arrested after drugs worth 135 thousand euro were discovered in Co. Leitrim on Tuesday night.

The cannabis resin was found after Gardai stopped a car in Carrick-on-Shannon as part of an ongoing investigation into drug dealing in the Sligo/Leitrim areas.

The 50 year old driver of the car was arrested and taken to Carrick-on-Shannon Garda station for questioning.

In a follow up search at a house in Manorhamilton, a large amount of cash, and more of the drug were found.
