
The inquest into the death of an Islandeady woman, who was murdered by her son over 7 years ago, will take place next month.
46-year old Nóirín Kelly from Derrycrieve, Islandeady was killed in her home on 9th March 2011.
In February 2014, her son Celyn was jailed for life after being convicted of her murder.
The sentence was appealed, but that appeal was subsequently dismissed.
According to the Mayo News, the Coroner for Mayo Patrick O'Connor said yesterday that he proposed to hear the inquest into Ms Kelly's death on August 20th at Castlebar Courthouse
Meanwhile, the inquest into the death of brothers Jack and Thomas Blaine, who were murdered at their Castlebar home in 2013, has been adjourned until November.
Alan Cawley of Corrimbla, Ballina was found guilty of their murder in July 2017 and sentenced to life in jail,
That sentence has been appealed to the Court of Appeal, and Mr O'Connor said it would be inappropriate to hold the inquest until all the criminal proceedings are dealt with.
He adjourned the inquest until November 19th.
