The tender has gone out for the provision of safety barriers along a notoriously dangerous stretch of new road surface along the N58 between Foxford and Ballyvary.

Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) have devised the barriers, that are unique, as they must be placed along a very narrow verge, with a significant drop either side.

Local fine Gael Councillor Neil Cruise says works should now get underway to install the barriers by the end of August / early September, ahead of next winter.
