Funding totalling €12,000 has been allocated for 7 festivals taking place in Co Mayo this Summer.

The Minister for Arts, Heritage & the Gaeltacht Josepha Madigan has allocated funding for local cultural events - with grants ranging from €1,000 to €3,500.

Funding has been allocated to the following events:  

€3,500 - Seosamh MacGabhann Summer School, Kilmovee

€2,500 - Ballina Fringe Festival & Mayo North Promotions Office

€1,500 - Féile Iorras

€1,500 - Kiltimagh Coillte Come Home Festival

€1,000 - Ballyhaunis Summer Festival

€1,000 - Mr Yeats' visit to Killala

€1,000 - Erris Chamber / Children of Lír festival
