Westport Children's Choir will sing in New York's Carnegie Hall this Sunday.

The choir members,, aged from 6 to 18, are under the direction of Eriko Hopkinson - originally from Japan who's been living in Westport for some years.

The choir was invited to sing in the prestigious New York venue after a world-famous composer saw them singing on a YouTube video recorded by Dr Ollie Whyte.

The Westport choir are spending five days in New York, and will perform in front of an audience of some 3,000 people on Sunday.

The 30-strong choir will sing alongside other youth choirs from around the world in the world premiere of a new work by the award-winning Venezuelan composer and conductor Dr Cristian Grases.
