The sod will be officially turned today for the new development of facilities for Cill Chomain GAA Club.

The development includes a new clubhouse, Gym, indoor hall and function room in Glenamoy.

The ceremony will be performed by Minister Michael Ring at 4pm today.

Meanwhile, the Minister officially turned the sod on a new athletic track at Swinford Amenity Park over the weekend.

The development of this 200 metre track and 110 metre sprint lane is being jointly developed by Swinford Athletic Club and Swinford Amenities Limited.

Minister Ring allocated €50,000 for the development of the track during his time as Minister of State for Tourism and Sport.
