Gardai in Ballina seized a significant quantity of cannabis after they stopped a car in the Ardagh area yesterday evening.

In a planned search of the vehicle they recovered what they term “a significant quantity of cannabis”.

One male was arrested and was questioned and detained at Ballina garda station.

He was charged with the sale and supply of drugs and released on bail to appear before Ballina District court at a later date.
