
Three males were arrested following a series of incidents in Co Mayo overnight in which two Garda patrol cars were rammed, and two Gardai received minor injuries.
The incidents unfolded after a car was stolen in the Castlebar area in the early hours of this morning.
A Garda patrol car located the stolen vehicle and was following it, when the patrol car was rammed in Ballyheane.
One Garda received minor injuries.
The stolen car took off, and a second Garda patrol car joined the chase when it was also rammed near Ballintubber.
Again, one Garda received minor injuries in this incident.
The stolen car was then pursued by Claremorris Gardai and members of the Armed Support Unit.
The stolen vehicle crashed near the village of The Neale.
Three males were arrested – two aged in their early 20’s and one teenager – and were taken to Castlebar Garda Station where they’re being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
