House prices in Co Mayo rose by 1.7 % in the first three months of this year, according to the latest REA Average House Price Index.

The average cost of a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Mayo now stands at €152,500.

Roscommon saw a 4% increase in house prices in the first quarter of 2018, with a 2.9% increase in Galway City and 1.4% in Co Galway.

Overall, average house prices across the country rose by 9% over the past year, and the average semi-detached house nationally now costs almost €230,000.
