Gardai in Castlebar are investigating the theft of a car from McHale road in the town last night.

The Opel Corsa wine coloured vehicle, registration 02 MH 4091, was parked on the road.

The car is described as faded, with patches on its roof and bonnet.

The windscreen has a crack in it.

The owner of the vehicle is a person in their seventies and it’s their only means of transport.

Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious activity in the area last night or may be aware of the car’s location today is asked to contact Castlebar garda station at 094 9022222.
