Motorists are being advised of dangerous driving conditions across the region this evening due to snowfall and freezing temperatures.

Gardai in Ballina say it has been snowing heavily the past couple of hours and conditions are deteriorating, while a similar situation is reported in Claremorris and the surrounding areas.

There has been significant snowfall in the Roscommon Town area, also on the N5 from Tulsk down to Ballaghaderreen, where driving conditions are reported to be dangerous.

The N17 between Ballinacarrow to Tubbercurry is now partially blocked due to accidents this evening.
