Fianna Fail will hold its selection convention for the Roscommon / Galway constituency this Friday night at the Abbey Hotel in Roscommon.

There are now just two candidates seeking nomination to contest the next election for Fianna Fail – sitting TD Eugene Murphy and Councillor Michael Connolly from Moylough, Co Galway.

The Fianna Fail press office has confirmed to Midwest News that Roscommon Councillor John Keogh and Sean Óg Higgins from Ballintubber have both withdrawn their names from the selection convention.

One candidate will be selected at Friday night’s convention, with voting getting underway between 6.30 and 8.30 pm.
