Midwest Radio can confirm that all members of the Mayo boxing fraternity involved in the National Boxing Finals in Dublin on Friday night are safe and well.

After a reported shooting at approximately 9.45pm on the South Circular Road near the National Arena, participants and fighters were ordered to stay inside the venue. However, Midwest Radio has been informed by a source that the Mayo contingent have now made it back to their hotels and are safe.

There was believed to be six fights remaining on the card for tonight but those will now take place tomorrow.
