Met Eireann is warning of high winds and wintry showers over the coming days, as well as hail, sleet and snow.

A polar air mass is set to bring wintry showers and there's a risk of flooding on Atlantic coasts, while forecasters say there could be a "potentially disruptive period of weather" on Wednesday night.

Two weather warnings have been issued for this region.

Met Eireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Mayo,Galway, Clare, Cork, Kerry Limerick, Sligo and Donegal from 9pm tonight right through until 3am on Wednesday morning, with westerly winds gusts to between 90 and 110 km/h at times.

A status yellow snow and ice warning is also in place for Connacht and a number of other counties, with a warning of widespread wintry showers which may lead to snow accumulations.

The warning is valid from 6am tomorrow morning until 3am Wednesday morning.
